What is GreenChoice
Wuunder GreenChoice is the smart shipping solution that helps retailers become more sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective. At checkout, customers can choose a green delivery day, when a driver is likely already in the area. By intelligently bundling deliveries, GreenChoice enables carriers to deliver more parcels per trip. This means fewer delivery vans on the road and less CO₂. By optimizing transport movements and bundling deliveries, you actively contribute to a greener future.
The University of Groningen conducted scientific research into the effects of GreenChoice. Wuunder provided historical data for this study. Based on this, a research paper was written by Marith Zeelenberg, PhD candidate under the supervision of dr. ir. Paul Buijs and dr. Onur Kilic.

How it works
Wuunder GreenChoice works intelligently at every step of the delivery process:
At checkout
As soon as you enter your address in the checkout of an online eCommerce webshop, the Wuunder system analyzes all available delivery information from other Wuunder retailers along with specific order details (postal code, carrier, and delivery day).
Intelligent matching
This data is sent to the GreenChoice engine, which uses collective data from all customers to find optimal delivery matches (fully GDPR compliant, of course). The system starts by searching for matches in the most specific postal code area and can expand to broader areas if needed, taking all relevant delivery variables into account.
Smart recommendations
When matches are found, these options appear as GreenChoice options in the checkout. You then select your delivery preference, choosing either next working day delivery or a GreenChoice day.
Optimized delivery
Carriers can deliver multiple parcels at once while already in the area, meaning fewer delivery vans are needed, efficiency increases, and CO₂ emissions are reduced.
