Omnichannel Shipping: Ship from Store, Click & Collect and Multi-warehouse Fulfilment
Customers buy online and pick up in store. Or they order in store and have it delivered at home. Or they return an online purchase at a physical location. Omnichannel retail requires a shipping process that seamlessly connects multiple fulfilment locations.
Wuunder makes this possible from one platform. Show physical stores as pickup locations in your checkout, ship from the warehouse or store closest to the customer, and let each location operate with its own shipping rules and carriers. From click & collect to ship from store, without separate systems per channel.
What is omnichannel fulfilment?
Omnichannel fulfilment means processing orders from whichever location is most efficient: your central warehouse, a regional distribution centre or a physical store. The goal is faster delivery, lower transport costs and a better customer experience, regardless of where the customer orders or collects.
The three pillars:
- Click & collect (ship to store): the customer orders online and picks up at a store of their choice. No shipping costs, higher conversion, and it generates additional store visits.
- Ship from store: an online order is shipped from the nearest store instead of the central warehouse. Faster delivery, lower transport costs, and stores function as mini fulfilment centres.
- Multi-warehouse fulfilment: orders are automatically routed to the warehouse or location with the right stock and the shortest distance to the customer.
These brands deliver a perfect delivery experience with Wuunder
Click & collect in your checkout
With Wuunder Checkout, you show physical stores as pickup locations alongside parcelshops and parcel lockers. The customer sees on a map which stores are nearby, with address and opening hours.
What this delivers:
- No shipping costs for the customer: higher conversion on price-sensitive orders
- Additional store visits: click & collect customers spend on average 10-15% extra in store
- Higher delivery success rate: no missed deliveries, the customer picks up when it suits them
- Lower return barrier: the customer can exchange or return directly in store
The click & collect option works alongside all other delivery options: home delivery, parcelshop delivery, Nominated Day and Best Day Delivery.
Ship from store via Wuunder
Wuunder supports ship from store with multi-warehouse shipping rules. Per fulfilment location you configure:
- Own carriers and services: store A ships via PostNL, store B via DPD, the central warehouse via DHL
- Own rates and cut-off times: each location has its own collection and processing times
- Own warehouse lead times: the checkout adjusts the delivery promise based on the processing speed per location
Labels are generated via Wuunder Ship (One Click Printing or bulk), regardless of location. Your customer receives tracking per shipment.
Via MyWuunder you automatically book a carrier pickup for ad-hoc parcels, even from a store location. No separate phone call or portal needed. Store staff scan the packing slip from your ERP system or from MyWuunder and the shipping label is printed instantly (scan & print). At pickup, the driver receives a handover list which they sign on the spot, so you always have proof of parcel transfer.
“Not only did our transport costs drop significantly, our in-store revenue went up!”

Omnichannel logistics: the challenges
Inventory management across multiple locations
Which location has the product in stock? This is managed by your OMS (Order Management System) or ERP. Wuunder connects via API with systems like SAP, Netsuite and Microsoft, so the correct fulfilment location is passed per order.
Shipping costs per location
Each location may have different carrier contracts and rates. Wuunder manages this centrally: per location you configure which carriers and rates are available. The checkout shows the customer the correct rate based on the fulfilment location.
Returns across channels
A customer who orders online and wants to return in store expects a smooth process. Via Wuunder Returns, you offer a branded returns portal where customers choose: ship back via a carrier, or drop off at a store.
Which retailers benefit from this?
- Fashion and lifestyle retailers with their own store chain and webshop
- Supermarkets and food retailers with click & collect locations
- DIY stores and garden centres where customers order large items online and collect in store
- Franchise organisations where each location has its own stock and shipping rules
Wuunder scales with you: whether you have 3 stores or 300, every location works with the same carriers, labels and tracking.
Technical integration
- Multi-warehouse support: different shipping rules per fulfilment location via API
- Checkout widget: physical stores as pickup option alongside parcelshops and lockers
- OMS/ERP connection: SAP, Netsuite, Microsoft and custom via REST API
- Platform integrations: Magento (multi-storefront), Shopware (Sales Channels), Shopify Plus and Salesforce Commerce Cloud
