Shipping to Spain | carriers, delivery times and pickup points

Ship letters, parcels and pallets to Spain

Spain is Southern Europe's largest e-commerce market: €95 billion in revenue (CNMC) and more than half of online spending goes to foreign webshops.

Spanish consumers expect transparent shipping costs before checkout (62%), free shipping above a threshold (55%) and a straightforward returns process (61%). 71% prefer home delivery, but the share of pickup points and parcel lockers is growing fast.

DPD offers Predict with a 1-hour delivery window and insured shipping up to €520. GLS is strong on the Mediterranean coast and price-competitive for shipping large parcels internationally (up to 50 kg express).

With Wuunder you automatically compare all shipping costs and delivery times per parcel. No shipping rules, no manual work. With GreenChoice you also offer the most sustainable delivery option (+30% conversion, University of Groningen).

Customs and VAT

Mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands

No customs formalities: Spain is an EU member. Goods move freely from the Netherlands and Belgium. VAT rate: 21% (reduced 10% for certain products).

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera) are outside the EU customs territory. Shipments require a CN23 customs declaration with proforma invoice. Instead of VAT, IGIC (~7%) applies. Read more in our CN22/CN23 customs guide.

Ceuta and Melilla

Also outside the EU customs territory. Separate customs formalities and tax regime. Higher shipping costs and longer delivery times (+6 working days).

New from 1 July 2026: the EU levies a flat customs duty of €3 per product type on non-EU shipments valued up to €150. This does not apply to shipments from the Netherlands/Belgium to mainland Spain or the Balearic Islands (intra-EU).
